Optometry is an unknown subject in the professional field of education. That is why the association wants to spread its work to all professionals who are involved both in the field of education as in health care for children: teachers, psychologists, pedagogues, paediatricians...

As an outreach tool we offer lectures, aimed at all professionals and AMPA (School parents associations), which deal with vision and learning, i.e., that do a visual review of the functions related to the child's ability to continue learning. We discuss the most common signs and symptoms which lead to question if a child may suffer from visual problems. Finally, advice is given about visual hygiene and visual ergonomics.

The lecturer is a partner in the ACOTV who belongs to our list of specialists, which ensures the professionalism of the person doing this lecture. The cost of the lecture is 80 €. The duration is approximately one hour, questions and answers included.

To support this information, the association delivers two posters, which present a few tips of visual hygiene in a fun way, and some leaflets to attendees showing the symptoms that can interfere with learning and their treatment.

If the lecture is addressed to parents, in the association a newsletter is available containing information as the date and the place where the lecture will take place and which explains how important the vision is for learning processes.

The school only has to indicate the date of availability, i.e., the most suitable days and times to carry out the lecture. The Association will get in touch with the specialist nearest to your place and will also inform you of all steps.
